REMINDER:
Our class has a field trip scheduled for September 5th at 9:00. This field trip will be at the Avon Lake Public Library covering the Needs of Living Things. If you are interested in chaperoning this field trip, please email me.

We had a fantastic first two days in first grade! We got supplies put away and we are starting to learn our classroom rules and procedures. We read two stories: First Day Jitters, by Julie Danneberg and Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes, by Eric Litwin. The moral of Pete's story is: No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song because it's all good. This is going to be our class "motto" for the year. Each first grader made their own "Pete the Cat". Be sure to look for them at Open House!

Open house is TUESDAY NIGHT!!! Please see the flyer in your child's back pack for more details. At Open House I will be passing out your child's B.E.E. Book Binder and sharing information about the upcoming school year. I look forward to seeing you there!

If you have not returned your child's student information sheet yet, please do so ASAP. I am waiting to receive everyone's emails so I can begin to send out daily group emails to keep you updated on what is happening in our first grade classroom.

• The Erieview Ice Cream Social is tonight, Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00
• The first day of school is Thursday, August 22nd
• First Grade open house is Tuesday, August 22nd
• There is no school on Monday, September 2nd

REMINDER: Students should bring a healthy snack every day to school.
